This week marked the end of an era in our household. My daughter and my husband's son both graduated high school, officially closing the book on over 20 years of private yeshiva day school tuition payments for a combined 6 kids between the two of us. (Cue our happy dance!)
But as I watched these incredible kids cross the stage to start their new chapter, something else hit me - we're crossing our own stage too. This isn't just about them moving forward into their futures. We're both standing at the threshold of our own new beginning.
The Parenting Marathon is Complete (Well, Almost)
Anyone who's raised kids while building a business knows the juggling act. When you become a parent young, you're essentially trying to figure out your own adulthood while keeping tiny humans fed, educated, happy and - let's be honest - alive. For years, every major business decision has been filtered through the lens of "but what about the kids' schedules?"
Now, at 41 years young (speaking for myself here), we find ourselves in this unique sweet spot. We've got the wisdom and battle scars from two decades of parenting and business building, but we're still young enough to drive real impact and meaningful change.
Perfect Timing Meets Perfect Opportunity
The timing couldn't be more interesting. Just as we're gaining this newfound freedom to focus entirely on what we want to build, we're living through the most exciting technological revolution and evolution of our lifetimes. AI isn't just changing the game - it's creating an entirely new playing field.
We've spent years building and innovating across multiple industries, learning to navigate complex challenges, turning ideas into reality, marketing products and transforming brands and businesses. Now we get to apply all of that experience without the constant juggling act.
The world is moving at warp speed, and businesses everywhere are scrambling to figure out how to integrate AI and digital transformation without getting left behind. That's exactly the kind of challenge we've been preparing for our entire careers - and exactly where we want to be.
The Next Generation Question
But here's what really kept me thinking during those graduation speeches: What world are these kids walking into?
Are we sending them into a job market where AI will make their degrees irrelevant? Or are they actually the luckiest generation ever - the first to grow up alongside these tools, naturally developing skills that the rest of us are frantically trying to learn?
I'm betting on the latter. These kids don't see AI as some scary external force. To them, it's just another tool in their toolkit. They're going to do things with technology that we can't even imagine yet.
Looking Ahead: Empty Nest Energy
So here's what I'm excited about: We're about to find out what happens when two seasoned entrepreneurs get to focus 100% of their energy on building something meaningful. This nest is far from empty - it's a blank slate of opportunity and dedicated time to build for the future.
(And yes, I know they never really leave - they'll be back for laundry, meals, and financial assistance. But hey, semantics.)
We've spent 28+ years building digital innovation and transformation across fintech, AI, collectibles, beauty, healthcare - you name it. We've learned how to spot trends before they hit mainstream. We've figured out how to take products and services from concept to market success and help turn around companies whether it be a rebrand, restructure or digital integration.
Now imagine that same team, with that same track record, but with complete freedom to chase the biggest opportunities without worrying about who's picking up the kids.
The business world better get ready, because this empty nest is about to be filled with eggs. (Wait, that doesn’t sound right….don’t get the wrong idea here)
The Next Chapter Begins
This isn't just about business growth for growth's sake. We're in a unique position to build something that creates lasting impact - both for the clients who need help navigating this AI-driven future, and for our own family's legacy.
Twenty years of juggling parenthood taught us how to be efficient, how to prioritize ruthlessly, and how to make every decision count. Now we get to apply those skills to building something that can truly change the game.
To all the other parents watching their kids graduate and wondering "what's next?" - maybe it's time to ask yourself: What would you build if you could focus completely on building it?
We're about to find out, and honestly, we can't wait.
